A Coastal Home in the Making by LJ Building Co

Nestled into the hill overlooking the sweeping shoreline, our latest project Minapre is well underway and it’s shaping up to be something special.

 

This full-scale renovation and extension is a bold reimagining of a classic beach house, designed to better connect with the natural surrounds and take full advantage of its incredible ocean views. Currently under construction, this project is a true reflection of what we love to do at LJ Building Co: working closely with clients to turn underutilised spaces into homes that enhance lifestyle and celebrate location.

The original home had potential, but it lacked flow particularly between indoor and outdoor areas. Working in collaboration from the early planning stages, our team developed a concept that opens the home, extends the footprint, and blurs the line between inside and out.

​

Key elements currently underway include:

• A brand-new extension to expand the main living and entertaining zone

• Large stacker doors and openable glazing to create a seamless indoor-outdoor connection

• Elevated decking and outdoor entertaining areas positioned to frame uninterrupted ocean views

• A full internal renovation including kitchen, bathrooms, and relaxed coastal finishes

As the structure takes shape, the vision is coming to life — a home where sea breezes, natural light, and effortless flow are central to daily living.
